kisses lightsSomething you’ll understand immediately when you begin working with Accuwrite Print + Promo: We love Hershey.

Actually, love might be too mild a word. We utterly adore it.

We have raised our families here, worked with other businesses here, helped the community here. When there’s an event in Hershey, you can bet one of our staff is there, and usually not in a business capacity. We are passionate about this unique little town, which is big enough to house a major medical facility and small enough that you always bump into friends at the store.

So who better to tell you what you need to see in Hershey? These are the things you might not find on your own, things that go well beyond the usual tourist activities. Here are 10 of our very favorite things to do in Hershey.

  1. Brunch at the Hershey Pantry

No exaggeration, the cinnamon buns at the Pantry are as big as your head. If you don’t have time to sit down, grab a baked oatmeal to go. And even though it’s brunch, check out their desserts. Our mouths are watering just thinking about them.

  1. Lunch at the Chocolate Avenue Grill

Full disclosure, the Grill is one of our customers – but we were regulars here long before we began providing their apparel. Sit out on the patio, order Jess’s Favorite Salad in the Whole World, and watch the Hershey traffic go by.

  1. Stop by the Hershey Firehouse

We have a special affinity for these firefighters – Ali’s brother, Gordie, is a volunteer. Call ahead to have someone meet you at the Hershey Firehouse, where you can get a tour and look at the trucks. Kids especially will be enthralled by this special visit.

  1. Visit the Hershey Gardens

You could spend hours walking through the themed gardens and conservatory, but make sure to squeeze in a stop at the Butterfly Atrium. This is one of just 25 indoor tropical atriums in the whole country.

  1. Sneak a Peek Down Hotel Road

Before you drive down the hill after your Atrium stop, hike up Hotel Road to check out the view overlooking Hersheypark and the town of Hershey. It’s breathtaking.

  1. Cruise Down Chocolate Avenue

Does any town in America have better street lights than Hershey? The answer is no. Those lights sit on display on Chocolate Avenue, where you can also find great shopping and, yes, some of our town’s famed chocolate.

  1. Hike the Jonathan Eshenour Memorial Trail

This trail winding in and around Hershey is 13.5 miles long – more than enough to burn off a Pantry cinnamon bun! Take the extension down to Bullfrog Valley Pond, where the local fishing derby is held each year.

  1. Indulge at the Downtown Hershey Farmers Market

We do our best to support local businesses, and our farmers are no exception. This Saturday market runs May through October, and you’ll find seasonal delights such as juicy peaches and the crispest apples.

  1. Cheer on the Hershey Bears

B-E-A-R-S! A family tradition in the Peters household, Hershey Bears games course with energy and excitement from the drop of the puck. We’re lucky that the team is actually really good, too, so you see some outstanding hockey.

  1. Relax at Cassel Vineyards

The more-than-100-year-old vineyard has some amazing vintages. Go for the Friday night music, featuring a variety of talented artists. It’s the perfect way to end your week – and you may just see one of us at a nearby table, raising a glass alongside you.
